SCRF returns with its 13th edition this May, and it is better and bigger than ever. With the powerful theme “Create Creativity”, Sharjah Reading Festival 2022 features more than 25 writers from all over the world. The fest was launched by the ruler of Sharjah and Supreme Council Member (H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi). The main purpose of this festival is to celebrate excellence in young adult literature. 

Activities at Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival intend to imbue the love of reading in children by introducing them to well-known writers and authors. The chairman of Sharjah book authority, Ahmed Al Ameri, named the festival a forerunner of “knowledge and creativity in young minds.” The festival is empowering the country’s future by paving the path for youth and children to accomplish their goals and be devoted patrons of the rich Arab culture’s vision.

Sharjah reading festival 2022 is back with live shows, robots, and lots of books for young readers. You can expect plays, workshops, sessions, and shows featuring international honoured panelists and guests. 

• Nursery Kids in Action

Activities at Sharjah children’s reading festival also brings an exclusive programme named Kids in Action. The festival features activities that raise all the five senses via interactive displays and technology.

• Book Illustration Exhibition

Calling all national and international illustrators to participate in the book illustration exhibition 2022 in Sharjah to compete with other illustrators to win an award. 

The Sharjah Children’s Fest 2022 is offering three awards that are up for grabs:

• • The winner will get $8,000.

• • The 1st and 2nd runner-ups will receive $6000 and $4000 respectively.

• • The participants might also win an honourable award of about $1,000.

This exhibition was originally launched in 2012 to highlight the illustrators’ talent, who have showcased a high level of creativity. The 2022 edition is marked as the 10th anniversary of the illustrator’s award competition.

• The Fashion Workshop by Louna Land Event Organizers L.L.C: It will take place from May 14th to May 22nd, except 19th and 20th May in hall number four – Crafts.
