Established in 2011, GEMS World Academy – Abu Dhabi helps students reach their full academic potential. It started off as a small school that taught students ages 4 to 12. However, since it relocated to Al Reem Island in 2022, the school caters to children 4 to 18.
The GEMS World Academy in Abu Dhabi uses the International Baccalaureate, a unique method of instruction. This helps create a vibrant, varied, and welcoming environment for all students to flourish. Students study in a nurturing, encouraging environment that makes them feel secure, satisfied, and valued.
There are 664 students at GEMS World Academy that represent 60 plus nationalities. Most of them are Indians, Emiratis, Americans, and Pakistanis. GEMS World Academy has 29 faculty members, most from Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Canada. Before joining, all the teachers received training under the International Baccalaureate Primary Year Programme. The student-to-teacher ratio is 1:11, with 27 support staff. The school is especially acknowledged for its English as an additional language programme in addition to the support provided to students with special educational needs. (SEN)
