Dubai National School (DNS) opened its doors in 2006 in Al Twar, a predominantly residential neighbourhood. The Dubai National Group of Schools owns the newer campus, Dubai National School Al Twar. The American curriculum is used at Dubai National School in Al Twar, and English is the primary language of instruction. The Massachusetts Common Core state standards have been incorporated into the school's instructional framework.

The school is co-educational until Grade 3, after which boys and girls have separate teaching. The school staff possesses a wealth of experience and enthusiasm.

According to the most recent KHDA inspection report, there are approximately 1,500 students, the vast majority of whom are Emirati. There are 124 determined students, 149 teachers, and 24 teaching assistants for a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:10. Dubai National School Al Twar has received a 'Good' rating for the fifth time in a row.
