About International Academic School, Dubai

International Academic School is located in Al Warqa 1 in Dubai. It follows an American curriculum and offers KG to Grade 12 education. Established in 2006, it is Dubai’s first WASC-accredited school. International Academic School also follows the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum for Islamic Education and the Arabic language. Started with only 50 students, the school currently features over 1,200 students, 96 teachers and 39 teaching assistants.

The admission process at the International Academic School in Dubai involves the following steps:

For Lower Elementary (Pre-KG – Grade 1), placement is based on the child's age as of August 31 of the respective year. For Grades 2 – 12, placement is determined by the student's current curriculum, grade level, and readiness for the next academic level.

The following documents must be submitted while applying for admission at the International Academic School: 

Admission Documents

  1. Recent passport-sized colour photographs.
  2. A copy of the birth certificate.
  3. A copy of the vaccination card.
  4. A copy of the student's passport with a valid residence visa (for non-UAE citizens). 
  5. Copy of the Family Book (for UAE citizens) or Mother’s Family Book Log (for Emirati mothers).
  6. Copy of the student's original Emirates ID.
  7. Copies of both parents’ original Emirates IDs.
  8. Student's medical file from the previous school.
  9. The student’s most recent report card and transfer certificate. 

Transfer Documents

  1. Students transferring from the same emirate: Grade 2 to 9 students must submit a transfer certificate (TC) attested by the last school. Grade 10 to 12 students must submit a TC attested by the previous school and two recent KHDA-attested report cards.


  • Students transferring from other Emirates: Students from Grades 2 to 9 must provide a TC attested by their previous school and the education zone of the respective emirate. Grades 10 to 12 students are to submit a TC attested by the last school along with the last two report cards and verification from the education zone.
  • Students transferring from a different curriculum: Class 9 to 12 students must submit the last two years’ final report cards. Grades 10 to 12 students who have not followed Ministerial or Government curricula must provide proof of equivalency.
  • Students transferring from a school outside UAE: Grade 1 to 8 students who have cleared the CTA 4 test should submit their assessment report. Grade 10 to 12 students to submit the last two report cards and a TC attested by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE consulate where the school was located.
