The grading system at International Academic School is divided into four levels. The corresponding grades to each level are highlighted below:

International Academic School follows the American Curriculum, and different levels culminate with an American High School Diploma. Take a look at the subjects taught at the school's different levels below: 

Kindergarten

Kindergarten Level includes two grades—KG1 and KG2. It focuses on laying a strong foundation for young students. Core subjects like literacy, math, science, and social studies, along with co-curricular activities like art, music, and physical education, are taught at this level. 

A balanced Literacy Program is also followed. It is based on California Common Standards and helps develop students' reading, writing, listening, and other literacy skills.

Elementary School 

Grades 1 to 4 comprise the elementary level that offers a multi-disciplinary education to the students. Subjects taught at the elementary level follow the California Common Core Standards:

Middle School

Middle School includes Grades 5 to 8. This level focuses on the student's physical, mental and emotional development. Subjects taught in middle school include:

Grade 9 to Grade 12 comprise the high school level at International Academic School in Dubai. Students clearing this level are granted an American High School Diploma. Career counselling sessions are also provided to help students navigate their future paths. Subjects taught at this level include:

The admission process at the International Academic School in Dubai involves the following steps: 

1. Fill out the student enquiry form, available online or through a school visit. 
2. Schedule a school tour to explore the campus and facilities.
3. The school will contact you and guide you through the next steps if a vacancy is available.
4. If no vacancies are available, the student’s name will be placed on a waiting list, and you will be contacted as soon as there is an opening.

Note: It must be noted that the school prioritises sibling applications at the time of admission. 

The complete fee structure of the International Academic School is detailed in the table below. In addition to the charges listed below, new students must also pay non-refundable registration fees of AED 525 (including VAT).

Age Requirements for Admission

For Lower Elementary (Pre-KG – Grade 1), placement is based on the child's age as of August 31 of the respective year. For Grades 2 – 12, placement is determined by the student's current curriculum, grade level, and readiness for the next academic level.

Inclusion Admissions

International Academic School also offers admission to students with special needs. Applicants must submit all necessary psychological, medical and educational reports and their application. Students with special needs eligible for admission into the school include:

• EAL students at all levels
• Students of Determination
• The Gifted and Talented

Documents Required 

The following documents must be submitted while applying for admission at the International Academic School: 

Admission Documents

1. Recent passport-sized colour photographs.
2. A copy of the birth certificate.
3. A copy of the vaccination card.
4. A copy of the student's passport with a valid residence visa (for non-UAE citizens). 
5. Copy of the Family Book (for UAE citizens) or Mother’s Family Book Log (for Emirati mothers).
6. Copy of the student's original Emirates ID.
7. Copies of both parents’ original Emirates IDs.
8. Student's medical file from the previous school.
9. The student’s most recent report card and transfer certificate. 

Transfer Documents

1. Students transferring from the same emirate: Grade 2 to 9 students must submit a transfer certificate (TC) attested by the last school. Grade 10 to 12 students must submit a TC attested by the previous school and two recent KHDA-attested report cards.

• Students transferring from other Emirates: Students from Grades 2 to 9 must provide a TC attested by their previous school and the education zone of the respective emirate. Grades 10 to 12 students are to submit a TC attested by the last school along with the last two report cards and verification from the education zone.
• Students transferring from a different curriculum: Class 9 to 12 students must submit the last two years’ final report cards. Grades 10 to 12 students who have not followed Ministerial or Government curricula must provide proof of equivalency.
• Students transferring from a school outside UAE: Grade 1 to 8 students who have cleared the CTA 4 test should submit their assessment report. Grade 10 to 12 students to submit the last two report cards and a TC attested by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE consulate where the school was located. 

Students willing to avail the transport facility at the International Academic School must submit a signed registration form and transport contract to the concerned authorities. The transport fee at International Academic School ranges from AED 2,930 to AED 8,300, depending on the route.

Numerous sports facilities are available to students at the International Academic School to support their physical development. These include a basketball court, football field, swimming pool, and playground for elementary and kindergarten students.
