Lycee Francais Jean Mermoz is a reputable private primary school with a co-educational curriculum in Dubai. The school was established in 2017 and is named after Jean Mermoz (aviator, adventurer, and explorer). It is one of the first schools of European descent to start its operations in the Middle East region. The school follows a French curriculum in the popular Al Quoz community.
Lycee Francais Jean Mermoz provides classes from Pre-Kindergarten until 8th Grade. The school administration plans to introduce additional secondary grades every new academic year. The students enrolled in this school have an average age of 3 to 11 years. The school focuses on providing quality education and has a maximum strength of 26 students per class. It has four sessions every year and has 36 teachers on the faculty. It allows for ample individual attention to every student. The school promotes diversity and has students from 45 different nationalities. However, the majority of the students are of French nationality.
All the subjects in the school are taught in French. However, Arabic and English are also taught as additional subjects. The school is built in a classic architectural style, although it provides students with advanced facilities. Since the educational institution was launched in 2017, it was supposed to undergo its first KHDA inspection in 2019-20. However, it was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, postponing the inspection.
Lycee Francais Jean Mermoz meets all of the academic and non-academic needs of the students and is widely known as one of the best schools in Dubai. The residents of Al Quoz can find many schools following the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum along with British, American and Indian curricula.
