The Indian expat community in Dubai has access to reasonably priced education at the New Indian Model School (NIMS) in Al Garhoud, Dubai. The Deputy Minister of Education, H.R. Rashid Abdullah Thaha, opened the school in 1980. It is a subsidiary of the NIMS group, which also runs the Central School in Dubai, the NIMS in Sharjah, the Model School in Abu Dhabi, and the NIMS in Al Ain.
Over 80% of students receive a 75% grade at New Indian Model School Dubai, consistently achieving 100% results. Students aged 4 to 17 can choose between the Kerala State and the CBSE curriculums at New Indian Model School, Al Garhoud. Around 6,551 students attend this co-educational institution, most of whom are Indian citizens. From Grade 6 onwards, there are separate classes for boys and girls.
