Admission and Fees

How to Apply for The English College? Step-by-Step Process

The English College accepts applications year-round and offers parents a simple, guided admission process. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to apply to the school:

 

Step 1—Visit the Admission portal on the school’s official website. Fill in student and parent details and select the desired academic year. Before applying, you can book a school tour (optional).

Step 2- Submit the required documents:

  • Recent passport-size photograph of the student (JPEG/PNG)
  • Copy of student’s passport & residence visa
  • Copy of student’s Emirates ID (front & back)
  • Copy of parent’s Emirates ID (front & back)
  • Latest school report (Year 1 onwards), including grades & teacher comments
  • GCSE/AS/BTEC results (for higher years, if applicable)

Step 3—Pay the Application Fee of AED 500 per child (non-refundable). You can pay via online transfer, credit card, or cash at the school.

Step 4- Once the application and required documents are submitted, students must complete an entrance assessment based on their year group.

  • For FS1 to Year 2, students participate in a trial session lasting 60–90 minutes.
  • In years 3 to 6, applicants take a CAT4 cognitive assessment to evaluate their abilities in reasoning and problem-solving. 
  • Students in years 7 to 9 also sit for the CAT4 test, but those who have already completed it in a previous school can submit their results instead. 
  • Years 10 and 11 applicants must undergo English, Mathematics, and Science assessments to ensure they are academically prepared for the GCSE curriculum. 
  • Years 12 and 13 students take subject-specific evaluations and participate in an online interview to discuss their academic goals and university aspirations.

Step 5—Receive an Offer Letter and Pay a Deposit. If the student meets the admission criteria, the school will email an Offer Letter. Parents must sign the Offer Letter to confirm enrollment and pay a 10% non-refundable tuition deposit (deducted from Term 1 fees). Students transferring from another school in the UAE or abroad must provide a Transfer Certificate (attested if necessary).
