Uptown School is divided into the following sections:

Uptown School follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) Curriculum, offering a holistic and globally recognised education. The school provides four IB programmes:

Primary Years Programme (PYP) – Pre-KG to Grade 5

The PYP focuses on inquiry-led and play-based learning, encouraging young learners to explore concepts and develop curiosity. It also develops students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills from an early age.

Core Subject Areas:

Middle Years Programme (MYP) – Grades 6 to 10

The MYP builds on students' analytical and critical thinking skills while fostering intercultural understanding and global awareness. In Grade 10, there is a long-term, independent research-based project. The programme also encourages social responsibility and community engagement. The subjects are connected to global contexts like sustainability, ethics, and innovation. It prepares students for complex problem-solving, teamwork, and applying knowledge to real-life scenarios.

Diploma Programme (DP) – Grades 11 to 12

The IB Diploma Programme is a two-year, academically rigorous programme that prepares students for university and career success. It includes in-depth studies in six subject groups and three core components.

Career-Related Programme (CP) – Grades 11 to 12

The Career-Related Programme (CP) at Uptown School is designed for Grades 11 and 12 students interested in career-focused education. The program includes four core components: Personal and Professional Skills (PPS) to develop workplace competencies, Service Learning for community engagement, Language Development to enhance communication skills in global industries, and a Reflective Project, an in-depth ethical research paper related to their career field. The CP framework at Uptown School fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills, equipping students with both academic qualifications and industry-relevant experience for success in higher education and professional careers.

Applying for admission to Uptown School is a simple three-step process. Follow these steps to complete your child's enrollment:

Step 1: Complete the online application form by visiting the Uptown School website.

• Submit the required documents (see the list below).
• Pay the AED 500 non-refundable application fee (plus 5% VAT).
• You will receive an acknowledgement email confirming the submission.

Step 2:  After applying, you will receive an email with instructions on scheduling an appointment with the admissions team. Your child will undergo an internal placement assessment to evaluate their academic skills. Once the evaluation is completed, the school will review the application and issue a Letter of Acceptance if approved.

Step 3: To confirm your child’s place, you must:

• Sign the Offer Letter as an acceptance of the admission.
• Pay the AED 4,000 non-refundable deposit fee deducted from the total tuition fee.

If you are transferring from another school, submit the Transfer Certificate (TC) attested by KHDA or the relevant education authority.

Documents Required for Admission:

• Copy of the child’s passport
• Copy of parent/guardian’s passport
• Copy of the last two years of school reports signed and stamped by the school
• Copy of any diagnostic, educational, or psychological assessments (if applicable)
• Application Fee Payment (AED 500 + 5% VAT)

Requirement after assessment and offer acceptance:

• Signed Offer Letter
• AED 4,000 deposit fee payment

Before starting school, a Transfer Certificate (TC) must be required (if transferring from another school). TC must be attested by KHDA or the relevant authority for local transfers.

Ensure that the candidate meets the following age requirements for the specific grade based on the age guidelines provided by the school:

*Note - This is based on the student's age on August 31st (for schools starting in September)

*This strategy also accommodates students who transfer from systems that allow younger admission.

The tuition fees at Uptown School, Mirdif, vary by grade level and are divided into three termly payments. Here is an overview of the annual fee structure:

In addition to tuition fees, Uptown School charges several one-time and recurring fees for new and returning students. The application fee of AED 500 (+5% VAT) is non-refundable and must be paid during admission. A new student registration fee of AED 4,000 is required to secure a seat and is adjusted against the tuition fee. Returning students must pay a re-registration fee of AED 2,000 to confirm their place for the next academic year. A 10% sibling discount is available for the third and subsequent child attending any Taaleem school in Dubai. Additional optional charges include transport fees (AED 5,000 - 15,000), uniforms (AED 300 - 2,000), extracurricular activities (AED 50 - 3,000), and school meals (AED 5,000 - 6,000). Fees for yearbooks, school events, and field trips vary depending on participation.

Uptown School provides safe and reliable transportation services through Arab Falcon Dubai, covering multiple areas across Dubai and Sharjah. The school buses have GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, and trained supervisors to ensure student safety.

Uptown School provides modern sports facilities to encourage physical fitness and teamwork. It features a 25-meter, eight-lane swimming pool, a separate early years pool, a hardwood-sprung indoor gymnasium, and outdoor sports fields for football, rugby, and athletics. Additionally, it has dedicated tennis and basketball courts and age-appropriate gym areas for early years and primary students. Uptown School also offers extracurricular sports clubs, competitive teams, and inter-school tournaments, ensuring students have ample opportunities to engage in fitness activities and team sports.
