The Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Academy is a group of five international schools in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. The leading educational institute was established in 1975 and is well-known for providing International Baccalaureate and British curriculum options to local and international children aged 3 to 18.
It was originally founded to educate the children of British expatriates in the Emirates. However, in 1988, it started catering to students of all abilities and nationalities under the aegis of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. The eight-member board of governors brings a large amount of expertise, skill, and knowledge that enhances the current performance of the school.
Considering the progress of the school, it was accredited by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the British curriculum in 2006 and 2008, respectively.
With a commitment to providing world-class assessments to all students, the RAK Academy is officially a Learning Ladders World Class Assessment Member School. Learning Ladders is an all-in-one system that helps educators, pupils, and parents to have better conversations about learning. Children are made well aware of their progress, achievements, and areas of improvement, while the parents can use integral resources of the system to support learning at home.
Besides having access to their children's academic achievement, parents also have access to their children’s learning objectives, termly or end-of-year reports, homework, evidence in portfolios, and Learning Ladders’ bank of teacher-written articles. Learning Ladders helps RAK Academy IPK to demonstrate how they prioritise high-quality assessments and parental engagement within the school environment.
