KG-1 to Grade 12 level education is offered at the Al Maarifa International Private School. The various grades are divided into the following levels:

American and British syllabi are taught at the Al Maarifa International Private School. While the American Curriculum is mandatory till high school, students can opt for either of the two after that. It must be noted that Islamic Studies and Arabic Language (part of the Ministry of Education’s curriculum) are taught in both curricula.

American Curriculum

The school offers the American Curriculum from KG 1 to Grade 12. Students clearing the American Curriculum achieve the American High School Diploma. The following subjects are taught at different levels under this curriculum:

British Curriculum

The British curriculum is provided from Grade 9 to Grade 12 in Al Maarifa International Private School. Under this curriculum, the school offers the CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education) and Pearson Edexcel courses. At the end of Grade 10, students are required to clear the IGCSE examination. Further, they achieve the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), AS (Advanced Subsidiary) and AL (Advanced Level) qualifications after clearing Grade 12.

Please note that in addition to the subjects highlighted below, students opting for the British program must also pass the common exam held by the Ministry of Education for Arabic and Islamic Studies at the end of Grade 12.

The admission process in Sharjah’s Al Maarifa International Private School is as follows:

1. Applicants for KG 1 and KG 2 students are required to appear for an interview. 
2. Grades 1 to 12 applicants must also interview with the admission committee while fulfilling the abovementioned requirements.
3. Grade 1 to 12 applicants must submit their previous school’s report card and appear for placement exams if their previous school’s average score is less than 80%. The minimum passing marks for this test are set at 60%.
4. Grade 12 British curriculum applicants must have cleared five IGCSE subjects.
5. Parents must adhere to other guidelines and submit the necessary documents to secure a seat.

Age Requirements for Admission

The minimum age criteria for admission into different grades at the Al Maarifa International Private School is as follows:

Documents Required 

An applicant must submit the following documents while applying for admission at Al Maarifa International Private School in Sharjah:

1. Certificate of passing the last grade.
2. Passing certificates from the previous two years for Grade 11 and 12 admission.
3. Transfer Certificate for students enrolling during the school year.
4. Completed admission application form.
5. Original Emirates ID.
6. Two copies of the student's passport with a valid UAE residence visa (the original passport must be presented).
7. Two copies of the sponsor/guardian’s passport and a valid UAE residence visa are required.
8. Two copies of the student’s birth certificate in English or Arabic (the original birth certificate must be presented).
9. Six recent passport-size photos.
10. Two copies of the Nationality ID (family book) for Emirati students.
11. School reports from the previous school for the last two years, if applicable (1 copy).
12. Copy of immunisation records.
13. Continuation of Studies Certificate and second-term report card from the current school.
14. The attested transfer certificate and final report card from the previous school are to be submitted before the summer vacation.
15. Other documents as required by the school.

Transfer Certificates

Applicants from within and outside the UAE must follow the following transfer certificate guidelines: 

Inside UAE

• The original transfer certificate and final transcript/report must be attested by the relevant educational authorities (SPEA, KHDA, ADEK, etc.) of the Emirate from which the student is transferring.
• Students switching curriculums must provide a Registration History Certificate, attested by the appropriate educational authorities in their Emirate (SPEA, KHDA, ADEK, etc.).
• Students transferring from British schools into Grade 11 or 12 (British curriculum) must submit an IGCSE certificate with a minimum of 5 subjects, each with a grade of D or higher.

Outside UAE

• The original transfer certificate and final transcript/report from the previous school must be attested by the UAE Embassy in the student's country of origin.
• Originals of all required documents must be presented upon request.
• The registration process will only be finalised once the documents are properly attested and submitted to the Registration Department within the designated time frame.
